ONLF defeated Ethiopian forces in latest fighting
Officials of the ONLF have said they have attained victory in recent fighting with Ethiopian troops in the Dollo province, and the towns of Darar and Baadilo. Information secretary of ONLF, Hussein Nur, speaking to Shabelle Media dismissed reports indicating that senior officials of the ONLF have surendered to Ethiopian troops. The official said they have issued an official statement on the issue earlier on and reiterated that the reports were lies.
Hussein Nur also said they ambushed Ethiopian troops in their bases at night and inflicted heavy losses on them. He said “we have killed more than a 100 Ethiopian soldiers and captured other senior officials of the Ethiopian armed forces.”
There is constant fighting between Ethiopian troops and ONLF forces in the Ogaden region. Human rights organizations accuse the Ethiopian soldiers of violating the human rights by harassing the people in the Ogaden region.
